Yes. While burning wood releases carbon, the carbon emissions from wood pellets are significantly less than fossil fuel. Environmental scientists have declared wood pellets to be a carbon neutral fuel, because the carbon that is released during the burn is recently sequestered carbon from tree growth, and will be “recycled” by new tree growth that replaces the wood harvested to make the pellet fuel. |
