Are wood pellets expensive? How can I be sure the price won’t go up like oil? |

Recent studies shows that while heating oil prices have risen sharply over the last ten years, price of wood or wood pellets in New England however has only increased moderately. This is primarily due to the fact that wood is a local natural resource, and the price of the resource is not linked directly to worldwide demand as is oil and other fossil fuels. Many energy analysts agree that the long term pricing of wood pellets is likely to remain much more stable. Currently, only natural gas is less expensive than wood pellets, and that is only because of the recent unusually low pricing of natural gas which some suspect will not last.
